Grow Your Money

Jonathan D.Pond’s ‘Grow Your Money - 101 easy tips to plan, save and invest’ is one book that has almost all the basics for saving and investment covered for people who are not financially savvy. Though at one glance it might look too technical, it really is a simple book with contents that is easy to understand and Jonathan has compile some of his best financial advices on how to grow our money while still living the life we would like to. Anyone and everyone can read this book and will be able to take home some good tips that will help in terms of saving, investing, planning for retirement investment, buying a house, how to use debt to your advantage and many others.

The chapters in the book are well written and has calculations shown with it so that some of the theories explained makes sense to the readers. I would recommend that people who do have financial difficulties or would like to plan their finance to pick out the sections most relevant to them and use it as a guide. At the introduction of the book, the author has already segregate the book into sections for the baby boomers, generation Xer and Generation Yer, about to retire, recent retiree and veteran retiree. This makes the reading much easier for those who have difficulty reading every pages of the book. Although some part can be rather US centric however the principles and practices are global in applications. Kudos to the author who is able to reach those who are not so finance savvy with his great collection of financial tools and tips!!

The Only Three Questions That Count - Ken Fisher

The Only Three Questions That Count

The Only Three Questions That Count

This book teaches the reader how to innovate. It does so by showing how an individual can develop their own technology to be a successful investor. This is done by asking three questions as the title of the book implies. Those three questions are simply: what is it that I believe that is false, what is it that I can see that others don’t, and what it is that I am doing that may be misleading me?

As the title indicates, it is about Investing by Knowing What Others Don’t. That is the author’s secret, simply knowing what others do not is the way to beat the market. As the author puts it, asking and answering the question “What do I know that others don’t” is the only way to beat the market.

The book explains in a straight forward manner that knowing what others do not does not require any special knowledge. It simply requires an individual ask and answer the three questions as described above. The book details with explanations and examples the author’s methodology in practice. Once you determine what is true, determine that others do not fathom it, and ensure that you are not impeding your own progress, you have gleaned an understanding of something that may be utilized to achieve positive results in the stock market. Of course it is easier to say than do, but the point is no other tool will assist you quite as well as the three questions.
