yup! for me the covers are important to attracts me to pull it out from the shelf first. but no worries if it's a known author. so be it...

To be honest, I ALWAYS wait for the books to come in paperback before buying ones. Why? Because it is much cheaper, of course. However, a few weeks ago, I went to MPH MidValley and came across this series (The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare) that I've been looking forward to buy since - what - January? They sold it at RM35.90 each for the hardcover version. I ended up borong the whole three books. Heaven!! Oh, btw, the books are superb! Much, much, MUCH better than Twilight series, IMHO. You should try them =)

correct... book cover is important for us ... brigh colors really do get my attention.. if it is hardcover, it gives the book prestige. What do you guys think?

I think .. and I am speaking for myself only.. it does matter to grab my attention.. the color and the design... Then, I would read the front and back flaps... Then the Table of Contents... Hmm.. I guess... when it comes to this.. we do have to judge the book initially by its cover.. sigh...

yeah..agree..even if the cover is glossy and and beautiful and whatever..but the content is dull,boring and bla bla bla..there's no pint buying..but if like famous writers they will have a lot of diff publisher and diff cover..i'll pick the most beautiful and creative one la..
